The Cherokee

The Cherokee tribe fought for the Colonies during the War of 1812, but people in Georgia still wanted them removed from their state due to the fact that gold had been discovered in the Cherokee land in 1828. This lead to Andrew Jackson signing the Removal Act of 1830. Once the Cherokee left the state of Georgia, then the citizens of Georgia started running their own gold mines in the land.
